City of Madison, Wisconsin - New GPS Community Base Station (MAON)

The base station is a Trimble Alloy receiver with a Zephyr Geodetic Model II antenna with ground plane, and is located at the City of Madison Engineering Service Building on the near south side of Madison. The base station uses an elevation mask of 5 degrees and a PDOP mask of 99.

GeNeral Information regarding the establishment of the reference position:
The reference position was determined by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. This base station is being used in the WISCORS (VRS) network as station MAON.
Users are responsible for following good GPS techniques, including proper receiver calibration and independent checks.
